CFP: SPECTRA Journal 6.1: the Social, Political, Ethical, and Cultural Theory Archives | Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, EE.UU.

Deadline for submissions: March 3, 2017

SPECTRA is a graduate student-run, peer reviewed scholarly journal hosted at Virginia Tech. The journal features work of an interdisciplinary nature and is designed to provide an academic forum to explore controversial topics and take intellectual risks. SPECTRA welcomes scholarly refereed articles, book reviews, essays, interviews and other works. In addition to these more traditional formats, SPECTRA also accepts a wide range of original multimedia pieces for publication, such as podcasts, digital videos, internet hosted texts, artwork and presentations, comics and photography.

The SPECTRA Journal invites scholarly work in all areas of social, political, ethical, and cultural thought for the Spring 2017 issue. For this issue, we particularly encourage critical work addressing politics in times of division, turmoil, and violence, and their ongoing normalization. These contentious temporalities might also be explored through social, ethical, and/ or cultural projects. Graduate students, established and non-affiliated researchers, up-and-coming academics are encouraged, regardless of disciplinary affiliation, to submit abstracts of approximately 250 words.
